James G. Sarvey opened Sarvey Insurance in a small office on Pickering Street, Brookville Pennsylvania in 1964 representing the Erie Insurance Group. Mr. Sarvey had no previous business or insurance experience, nor did he have any existing customers. Armed with only raw enthusiasm, a strong desire to help people and a need to provide for his young family, he undertook the task of building his business. Mr. Sarvey’s philosophy was simple “Take care of the people and the money will take care of itself.” Mr. Sarvey worked tirelessly to provide personal service to his growing family of policyholders. He added quality companies such as Allstate, Progressive and Millville Mutual Insurance Company to his arsenal of high quality insurance companies to better serve the needs of his growing client base. In a continued effort to better serve his customers, Jim also opened branch offices in Clarion (1981), DuBois (1988) and Punxsutawney (1990). Mr. Sarvey is a member of IA&B (Insurance Agents and Brokers) and PIA (Professional Insurance Agents) trade organizations. In 1976 Mr. Sarvey earned his Pennsylvania Real Estate Salesperson license. In 1980 after four years as a sales person for Keystone Realty, Mr. Sarvey earned his Pennsylvania Real Estate Brokers license enabling him to open his own real estate office and Sarvey Real Estate was born. Mr. Sarvey applied his same no non-sense philosophy of “taking care of the people” to the real estate business and grew to be one of the most respected real estate professionals in the area earning numerous professional designations including GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and CRB (Certified Residential Broker). Mr. Sarvey is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, Allegheny Valley Board of Realtors and the Clearfield-Jefferson County Board of Realtors. Seeing a need for greater access to vehicle titling services within his market area, Mr. Sarvey added Sarvey Notary Service to his insurance and real estate operations in 1987. In 1992 Mr. Sarvey was selected to be a pilot Decentralized On-line Messenger Service, one of only two such operations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This program allowed Sarvey Notary Service to offer cutting edge driver’s license and vehicle registration services such as driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals instantly over the counter. Services that were previously unavailable without traveling to Harrisburg, PA. In 1995, Sarvey Notary Service continued to increase access to driver license services when he was again selected to pilot the co-location of Sarvey Notary Service with a Driver License Photo License Center which brought photo license service to the DuBois community. Sarvey Notary Service is a member of PAN (Pennsylvania Association of Notaries) and NNA (National Notary Association). |
